Periodic installments of our process from concept to website creation.

OUR CONCEPT:

OUR FOCUS:

Cost savings, home based making money and solving financial dilemmas.

Our website business will consist of our pre-screened and pre-tried (when possible ), spend a little, save a lot. . . solutions for HOME, WORK, FINANCES and PLAY.

OUR COMMITMENT:

If it's not Win-Win. . . It's not happening.

We will do the leg work (web crawling) and research for you and for us. We will present and provide products, services and information with the intention of making money for ourselves and our company while providing you cost savings and making money solutions.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR:

"FREE" costs either time, money, or both and. . . and it DOES cost time, money or both to make money!

BUSINESS START UP HAS ITS PRICE: both time and money. We have had an offline loosly affiliated home based business for 23 years which still forms the core of our business.

An early lesson for us was: "What you think should take a day or a dollar, takes a week or seven dollars". That equation never changed and holds true in our present process of online business creation.

WE WILL RESPECTULLY NAME NAMES

The products, services, and information that we encounter will be named and discussed from the highly subjective standpoint of our experience of them. We will provide links and advertising for your benefit as well as to benefit us if you purchase from them.

THE PLAN FOR THIS BLOG:

We will work our past internet and home based business experiences into our present and future experiences taking you along in our process. As mentioned above, we will be naming names with the intention of making us all money earning while we are all learning.

DAY 1 Entry:

This morning I (the creator of "for Keeping It Simple") am following the instructions for Day 12 of the Plug In Profits turnkey (sort of) 30 day website promotion tutorial. It is titled "Launch Your Own Blog". Since I am good at following precise, inclusive, detailed step by step instructions, my blog creation is happening now, in real time. Cool.

I am actually also on page 16 having skipped the blog page. Doing a blog did not appeal to me because I have no inclination at this time to having conversations that I do not initiate. Currently, I only have time to either present my experiences or interactively talk about them. I don't have time for both. For now, I will just be presenting. I am doing the blog because setting up the blog is a requirement for expanding the number of pages for my Plug-In Profits website. But, I am actually getting into it as you can probably tell. It is useful for sorting my thoughts.

I landed at Plug-in Profits on August 2nd, about three months after encountering it for the first time in the information purchased from the Rich Jerk. The Rich Jerk is a "how to make lots of money on the internet" type ebook and turnkey website। Turnkey websites appeal to me because I had no website creation experience and even less time. Funny: I read another person's experience and he said that when he started he thought "html" stood for "hotmail". Now I know it doesn't. It stands for H-how T-to M-make L-lots (of money in the internet.) Or does it?

The first two products are described from my very subjective experience and point of view: Plug-In Profits Site and The Rich Jerk. When I started my online research, I knew the objective of my internet business but that was about it. Because I did not have products, internet selling experience, website creation, and all the rest, I was looking for an overview of how to to this as well as specific tools and resources to implement it.

In April, about when I started research for the website and business concept, I tripped over the The Rich Jerk from a google search. I bought it, and . . . it seemed to deliver what I didn't really know that I was looking for and then some. I had to start somewhere. This was a good as any place to start.

In keeping with our business theme of "keeping it simple. . . when simple is good enough", I can say that I do not know if it is a poor, fair, good, or great example of a "how to do it" type program, but simply put: it worked for me at the time. I didn't need to find "the best" resource out there, just one that was "good enough".

It is now about 4 months, 5 banker's boxes of web reseach, a few more gigs used up on my hard drive and ? 1500 hours invested and maybe a couple of thousand dollars in various expenditures later. I refer back to the Rich Jerk information frequently. It is my "go to" for resources, direction and instruction on alot of subjects. And he is sort of funny.

I use the phrase "hype site" to refer to those red, white, yellow, black and blue sales pages that scare us to death or make us drool over the $$ millions we don't have or are just plain folksy but are selling like crazy? This is a quote from his hype, aka pitch page:

I’m offering you EXACT instructions on how to become an online multi-millionaire like me. The same strategies I still use to this day. Unlike other so-called gurus, I’m not going to overwhelm you with thousands of pages of BS. If you are looking for an expensive sleep-aid, buy their program. If you want to start making money TODAY, get mine.

In my program, I cut to the chase with my prime online money-making strategies, those that you can begin using immediately. If you can't easily make at least $10,000 per month with my simple instructions, you have a MAJOR mental problem. SERIOUSLY.
And by the way, I’m talking about just 5-10 hours of work per week. And, you'll never have to talk to anyone on the phone or in person either. No dealing with idiots.

There you have it, The Rich Jerk ,talent and information with tone. The support is very good. We are definitelyl NOT making $10,000 per month. But I don't take that "mental problem" thing seriously. We are still collecting pieces that eventually will be assembled into our main website. Then maybe we can turn a dollar.

Plug-In Profits is one of those pieces in the making for our main website. It is a turnkey website with a number of products and services that mainly serve the home based online business entrepreneur. Since I make it a point to earn while I learn to earn, I can see that the 30 day site development self-directed tutorial process has application well beyond this particular project. This is a hands-on tutorial for the basics of internet marketing. I appreciate the level of detail, the organization of the material, the quality of "programs that I would buy myself", as well as the top notch support and responsiveness.

Although it seems you can set up everything for free, it is easier to pay for upgrades and services as you go along. I think putting some money into set up will produce a far better hands-off type site in the long run. So "free" in this case means costs time, or some money if you want more and better results.

Education has its price, but creating a website whose objective is to earn, may take the edge off. You can see the beginnings of our home based business oriented website in the making at: http://turnkeywebsitesuccess.com/ . At some point it will be integrated into our main website.

In summary: The Rich Jerk gave me an overview as well as specifics for internet marketing. It included information on the Plug-In Profits turnkey website which is turning out to be a good way to get started.

Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

First,you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the old days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be *IN THE RING* to truly understand and profit from it. In fact, this is a business where you can truly be earning WHILE you're still learning...

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow and therefore you succeed. This is what I call: "Making the Leap"!

The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.
